Is the Ha Giang loop worth it?

Our guides weigh in on the north’s toughest and most rewarding roads.

Ha Giang is the section of our North tour that riders ask about most. The roads are narrower and the drops steeper than anywhere else in the fleet’s range, especially through the Ma Pi Leng Pass above the Nho Que River.

It rewards riders who are comfortable at Challenging level and above — this is not the place to build confidence from scratch. For everyone else, the terraced valleys around Dong Van and the market towns along the way are reason enough to go slowly and stop often.
